Our boats are made from Nitrillon, toughest boat material out there.
We build our boats light, so that packing and travelling is easy and manageable.
All materials used are friendly to the environment, so you can enjoy the rapid without feeling bad.
Aloha, The tracking fin is an essential part of the Seawave’s ability to track a straight line. Make sure you don’t leave it behind or lose it! Mahalo to Hike 48 for shipping out the Tracking Fin quickly so we could continue enjoying our stateside vacation! David and Jennifer Meyer
The seat is perfect to allow 3 people in our Palava and Hike 48 was great to deal with.
I bought the Solar to get my wife and at the time one kid out of the house during covid. We have used it countless times over the years on lakes of all sizes. We now have two kids and can fit the whole family (Me, Wife, 2 kids) plus some gear no problem.
This is the only place I could find that has this replacement fin. It did cost a lot getting it shipped to Hawaii though.
I came back from a ride with my 17 year old Sunny and the skeg pad was half unglued. I contacted Hike48 for help. Excellent service and advise. They quickly provided instructions for the repair and required material. I was able to repair the Sunny myself. I recommend Hike48.
We bought a Rush II last year before our trip to Yukon and Alaska. What a good choice we made. This kayak is amazing. Stiff, surprising hydrodynamic for this type of kayak. Felt safe and kept dry with the canopy option we also got. This thing brought so much good time, one of those was when we chartered a plane which dropped us on a glacier by a glacier lake in Alaska. Incredible memories we couldn’t have without this purchase..
I am originally from CZE and finding out that we can buy this amazing boat here in CA was a very nice surprise. The shipping was fast and everything arrived safely.
Palava is a really good canoe, tested on class2+ rapids. Easy to inflate, easy to handle, and easy to carry.
Used this pump for Palava, I was able to inflate it in a couple of minutes - easy handling and storing.
The Rush 1 is a very well made and fun to use kayak. I do recommend picking up the removable deck as well as it adds a lot to the versatility. It is very stable and moves well through the water at the same time. The online buying experience with Hike 48 was also excellent. Great communication and fast shipping to the US.
From what I've read, this bayonet valve has not been made since the mid 2000s. Without it, my inflatable kayak would have been worthless, or at least have cost much more to fix. Thanks to you having the valve on hand, I was able to fix my leaky valve myself. Thank you!
Great staff with good communication. Shipped all the way to Alaska and quickly. Highly recommended.
The adaptor we purchased performed as promised.
I bought my Kayak from them. And I just bought an accessory. I'm glad this company exists in Canada, and long live the GUMOTEX brand!
Fast delivery and always good advice!
Bought a solar kayak from Hike 48, previously Canoeboat, in spring 2022. Have used it for one season, primarily as an easy-to-transport craft in our cruiser. For a full-size two-person (or convertible to one-person) kayak, it folds up into a surprisingly compact dry-bag that fits in an under-bench locker on our cruiser. Pumps up by hand and ready to take out on the water in 10 minutes. We have had it out in fairly big water. It handles and tracks very well in big chop, although the front paddler does get wet. Very sturdy and stable.
With all materials being rubber, boat dries out very quickly in the sun and can be deflated and put away without much delay.
Regarding after purchase service, we did experience a failed valve in one of the footrests. Veronika drove to our home to deliver a new one, no charge.
Really happy with this purchase.
I bought my first Safari about 10 years ago and a second one for my wife last year. Even though I have several other kayaks my Safari gets used the most, primarily because its light weight makes it easy for afternoon impulse paddles (I keep it inflated all summer). It's also my safest kayak because of the self-bailing cockpit and ease of re-entry after a capsize. Last summer I was dumped upside down by a sneaker wave in Puget Sound and was back in the kayak so fast I didn't have time to feel the cold. The Safari is strongly built in spite of the light weight (mine weighs 26 lbs) and has held up great after 10 years. Its speed is no match for my long sea kayak, but it is decently fast for its length in spite of the blunt bow, I think because it is so light and buoyant. The Safari's only drawback is my wet butt due to the self-bailing cockpit but this compromise I gladly accept.
My Safari has been on local rivers, on Puget Sound, around Vancouver Island as a dinghy to a larger boat, and has never let me down. Highly recommended.
Finally, it was a pleasure dealing with Monica at Hike 48. Friendly, quick, and hassle-free service.
